The Inter Firms Road Leagues were started in 1982, by Clonmel Athletic Club, to encourage Adults to take up running as the Sport was enjoying a boom at the time. These Leagues have been an outstanding success in achieving this Goal of attracting Adults to the Sport. In 1982 we had only a few Senior athletes competing for the Club and these Leagues has started many athletic careers and the Club has achieved a lot of success. These Leagues were originally sponsored by the AIB Clonmel for a good number of years. We then had them sponsored by Fitzgerald Nash for a number of years. Currently these Leagues are sponsored by Morrison BMW Cahir and we are grateful to all our Sponsors for their support over the years, for they have helped the Club to promote a very successful event every year and we appreciate such sponsorship.
